Portable Freeware Discussion • LinqPad (DotNET IDE)

LINQPad, claiming native portability (untested! See below...), looked worthy of a quick post -- I'm posting it in "Discussion" to gauge community interest.

LINQPad is a freemium program (see https://www.linqpad.net/Purchase.aspx for edition comparison). The latest LINQPad 8 is meant for DotNET v6.0 up to v8.0, with some limited compatibility with prior frameworks; LINQPad 5, released in 2015, is the older version meant for working with DotNET v4.6 up v4.8 (there are older version for older frameworks, portability status unchecked).

LINQPad standard edition is free to download and use. LINQPad is not an open-source product and the source code is protected by copyright laws.
LINQPad can be xcopied for portable or shared deployment, simply by copying the following runtime files:
LINQPad 5 LINQPad 7/8
LINQPad.exe
LINQPad.exe.config
LINQPadX-x64.exe
LINQPadX-x86.exe
LINQPadX-arm64.exe
LINQPad.GUI.dll
LINQPad.Runtime.dll
User preferences such as tab size and editor color are normally stored in '%AppData%\LINQPad\RoamingUserOptions.xml'. You can move/copy that file to the LINQPad directory to portablize it

BTW, further information on portability (and some shortcomings) is available in LINQPad's forums: https://forum.linqpad.net/.

According to its download page, LINQPad is currently at v8.3.7 (LINQPad 5 is v5.48.0).
